Taoyuan Metro

The fourth airport transit line in Asia, MRT Taoyuan Airport Line links up Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport and its surrounding cities. The line starts at Taipei Main Station, passing through the airport and finally arriving at Zhongli Railway Station, across three cities - Taipei City, New Taipei City and Taoyuan City. Inaugurated on March 2, 2017, MRT Taoyuan Airport Line now provides comprehensive and convenient services to visitors from at home and abroad.

Special Offers:During the first month since the Airport MRT’s inauguration, a 50% discount or more is offered

  • 50% off: General passengers using single-journey tickets, EasyCard, iPass, Happy Cash (Version 2), and Taoyuan Citizen Card.
  • B. 50% off plus 50% off: Passengers who are 65 years old or elder, as well as mentally or physically challenged people with a valid ID and their companions (1 companion for one person only) with a single-journey ticket, EasyCard for elders, EasyCard for the challenged, EasyCard for the companions of the challenged, iPass for elders, EasyCard for elders, and EasyCard the companions of the elders.
  •  50% off plus 20% off for children: Children who are between six years old and less than 12 years old may purchase discount tickets by all Airport MRT station counters upon provision of a valid ID. Children who are less than six years old may take the MRT for free.

Ticket Info

A single-journey ticket costs between NT$30 and NT$160, depending on the distance. (Getting in and out of the same station is NT$30. The fare for taking Express Train and Commuter Train is the same.) A ride from the Taipei Main Station to Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport is NT$160.

Train Types

There are two types of trains, Express Train and Commuter Train. Express Train is purple and Commuter Train is blue.

Express Trains stop at: A1 Taipei Station, A3 New Taipei Industrial Park, A8 Linkou Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, A 12 Airport Terminal 1, and A 13 Airport Terminal 2
