This part of Taroko Gorge is composed of marble cliff faces covered with small holes, the result of long-term erosion by river and ground water. House swifts and Pacific swallows often forage and nest here, giving the place its name.

Nat'l Fwy 5 → Exit at the Su-ao Interchange → Prov. Hwy 9 → Prov. Hwy 8
**The Central Cross-Island Highway (Guguan to Deji Section) is currently closed for repairs.

Public：

Take TRA to Hualien Station or Xincheng Station, transfer Taroko Route 310 to Swallow Grotto (Yanzikou) stop.
Take TRA to Hualien Station, transfer Hualien Bus to Swallow Grotto (Yanzikou) stop.
Take TRA to Xincheng Station, transfer Hualien County Bus 302 to Swallow Grotto (Yanzikou) stop.
