Dapu Reservoir is located in the south area and is also called Emei Lake. Even though it is no longer primarily used for irrigation, it has great potential for tourism activities. People use to name the area "Yuemei" (eye brow like a crescent moon) because the shape of the tableland by the Emei River was very similar to a crescent moon. But later, the named was changed to "Emei" in order to avoid any confusion or repetition. Near Emei Lake, there is a suspension bridge called the "Emei Bridge."
