Two-Day LOHAS Tour of Dapeng Bay and Little Liuqiu

Dapeng Bay is the largest inner bay in Taiwan, providing rich resources of sea animals and plants. Mangroves and sea eggplants grow by the sea. The fauna in the Dapeng Bay National Scenic Area consist mainly of bird, fish, and mollusks. There are about 95 species of birds, including migratory species. Fish include groupers, and other sea animals include a special kind of fiddler crab that inhabits the wetlands.

Little Liuqiu is the only coral island among the 14 major islands around Taiwan. It is famous as the best location for watching sunsets, having the largest variety of corals, and being composed entirely of coral. The whole island is full of fantastic rocks, and it gives access to many beautiful seascapes.

There are around 100 temples on Little Liuqiu and at Dapeng Bay, many of them located around Donggang Town and Linbian and Manzhou Townships. Among all the temples, Donglong Temple in Donggang Township has the longest history. Once every three years, people there will hold a boat-burning ceremony that is considered the biggest celebration of its kind. Donggang's Seafood is famous all over Taiwan, especially its "three treasures": bluefin tuna, cherry shrimp, and fish roe. Little Liuqiu is famous for its barbecued squid and sausage.
