Tai-an Hot Spring was called Takeshima Hot Spring during Japanese occupation and Hu Mountain (Hushan) Hot Spring after World War II. In 1978, late president Chiang Ching-Kuo visited the hot spring and renamed it as Tai-an. Besides Tai-an Hot Spring, Hu Mountain (Hushan) Hot Spring and Tenglong Hot Spring are also located nearby. The spring water is abundant and the cherry blossoms are graceful during the blossom season.
Tai-an Hot Spring is colorless and odorless. It is the best hot spring in Taiwan. The magnificent scenery in the area makes the hot spring even more attractive. Besides the hot spring, visitors can also play with water or fish in the rivers nearby. In autumn and winter, there are grand mountainous views in Hu Mountain (Hushan) and Henglong Mountain (Henglongshan) (altitude 1,500 meters). The hot springs here include Hu Mountain (Hushan) and Tai-an, and they have the same origin.

By Car: 1. Nat'l Hwy 1 → exit at Miaoli Interchange → take Prov. Hwy 6 provincial route toward Gongguan → Wunshui → turn right to Miao-62 country road to Tai'an Hot Spring.
2. Prov. Hwy 6, Prov. Hwy 3 provincial route → Da Lake(Dahu) → turn right toward Zhongxing Village → Xuejian, Malabang(Malapan) Mountain.
3. Nat'l Hwy 3 → exit at Zhulin Interchange → No. 120 County Highway → turn right Zhulin Bridge to Zhudong → take No. 122 County Highway through Qingquan → follow Dalu Avenue to Tai'an Hot Spring.
Train & Bus: From Miaoli Train Station, take Hsinchu Bus toward Da Lake(Dahu) and get off at Da Lake(Dahu) stop, then transfer to the taxi.
