The fourth airport transit line in Asia, MRT Taoyuan Airport Line links up Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport and its surrounding cities. The line starts at Taipei Main Station, passing through the airport and finally arriving at Zhongli Railway Station, across three cities - Taipei City, New Taipei City and Taoyuan City. Inaugurated on March 2, 2017, MRT Taoyuan Airport Line now provides comprehensive and convenient services to visitors from at home and abroad.
How to Buy Tickets
- There are automatic ticket machines at each station. The machines only accept cash coins but you can always change a note into coins at the station. You may also purchase a ticket by the counter.
- Please swipe your card or token before taking a ride. To ensure everyone enjoys a comfortable and safe ride, smoking is entirely forbidden in all stations. No drinks, food or chewing gums are allowed either within the yellow line in front of the ticket gate.
- When you finish the ride, swipe your one-day pass or Easy Card by the gate and the system will automatically deduct some fees from the card. If you use a token, the machine will take the token away.
Ticket Price and Type
A single-journey ticket costs between NT$30 and NT$160, depending on the distance. (Getting in and out of the same station is NT$30. The fare for taking Express Train and Commuter Train is the same.) A ride from the Taipei Main Station to Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport is NT$160.

Train Types
There are two types of trains, Express Train and Commuter Train. Express Train is purple and Commuter Train is blue.
Express Trains stop at A1 Taipei Station, A3 New Taipei Industrial Park, A8 Linkou Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, A12 Airport Terminal 1, and A13 Airport Terminal 2.
Commuter Trains stop at all stations of the MRT Taoyuan Airport Line. (Every 15 minutes a train)
