To encourage international tourists to explore Central and Southern Taiwan, the Taiwan Tourism Administration, in collaboration with the Taiwan High-Speed Rail Corporation, is launching the "Buy One, Get One Free for International Visitors riding the High-Speed Rail" promotion. Starting from December 1, 2023, at 12 p.m. Taiwan time, the promotion will be available globally. Foreign travelers holding short-term tourist visas can purchase a one-way high-speed rail ticket through designated channels (KKday, klook). If their destination is any high-speed rail station south of Taichung, including Taichung, Changhua, Yunlin, Chiayi, Tainan, or Zuoying, they'll receive a complimentary ticket for the second person traveling within the same route. This promotion runs until May 31, 2024.

To attract more international visitors to Taiwan, there is an additional bonus offer during the first month (December 1-31, 2023). Foreign tourists purchasing the aforementioned "Buy One, Get One Free for International Visitors riding the High-Speed Rail" promotion tickets during this period can exchange their high-speed rail buy-one-get-one free voucher at the Taoyuan Airport MRT counter for a Taoyuan Airport MRT Round Trip Ticket + Taipei Metro 72-Hour Pass set, allowing international travelers to explore both Northern and Southern Taiwan with multiple benefits. The Taiwan Tourism Administration aims to boost Taiwan's appeal as a top choice for global travelers through this promotion. This initiative encourages visitors to explore the central and southern regions deeply, experiencing the beauty of Southern Taiwan firsthand.

In conjunction with this promotional event, designated channels will offer additional purchase options for attractions and accommodations in the central and southern regions, including discounts on hotels, amusement parks, museums, and tour packages. Travelers can choose additional products based on their travel preferences and itinerary plans, not only enjoying the high-speed rail buy-one-get-one transportation offer but also experiencing new travel adventures in dining, lodging, entertainment, shopping, and transportation at affordable prices. Through this promotional activity, the Administration aims to attract overseas visitors to explore tourism in the central and southern regions, introducing them to the natural beauty and historical sites of Southern Taiwan, thereby driving the development and opportunities within the tourism industry in these regions.

This promotion is exclusively for foreign visitors entering Taiwan on short-term visas and is not applicable to those residing in Taiwan for work, study, or other long-term purposes. Also, the promotion is subject to limited availability and will end once the allocation is depleted.
