Guanyin Lotus

The name "Guanyin in north and Baihe in south" has been gaining popularity these days. The Hualien Lotus Festival has made people aware that there is good spot for appreciating lotus in northern Taiwan.

Lotus fragrance spreads over Guanyin and Xinwu townships in Taoyuan County, every summer. Under the continual efforts of the Taoyuan County Government, lotus grows well and blossoms perfectly in these townships, thus making them the county's newest tourist attractions. In fact, Guanyin Township has become the largest lotus preservation area in northern Taiwan.

When the lotus is blossoming, the annual Taoyuan Lotus Festival also begins. There are many interesting activities included in the event, including the lion dance, the water lotus dance, the lotus garden show, return to ancient life, children's toy classroom, flying kites, setting free fries, lovers together, and the 100-person scarecrow competition. These activities combine industry and art, allowing people learn more about the beauty of Taoyuan in addition to appreciating the lotus.

As floral leisure farms combining agriculture and tourism has been the focus industry promoted by the government these years, local farmers turn their farms into leisure farms combining natural landscapes and rural scenes, allowing visitors to do it themselves and enjoy the fun of rural life. Be welcome to visit Guanyin on holiday: to appreciate, to watch and to taste lotus with your family.
