Maolan Mountain Hiking Trail is located at Mingtan middle school. You can go through it to Taiwan Tea Research and Extension Station, Yuchi Branch and Weather Forecast Station, Sun Moon Lake Station. The length of this trail is about 4.6 kilometers. There are farms of Assam black tea and cedar trees here. It is also the best place of sunrise-watching.

Transportation：Nat'l Fwy 1 → Exit at the Changhua System Interchange → Nat'l Fwy 3 → Exit at the Wufeng System Interchange → Nat'l Fwy 6 → Exit at the Ailan Interchange → Prov. Hwy 14 → Prov. Hwy 21
Public：
- Take THSR or TRA to Taipei Station, transfer Kuo-Kuang Bus 1833 to Sun Moon Lake stop.
- Take THSR or TRA to Taichung Station, transfer Sun Moon Lake Route 6670 to Sun Moon Lake stop.
