The Baolai area is a popular tourist spot in southern Taiwan for activities such as hot spring tourism, rafting and plum blossom viewing. It’s at the entrance to the natural scenery of the Southern Cross-Island Highway, a popular area during holidays. In order to better serve visitors, the Maolin National Scenic Area Administration has set up the "Baolai Restaurant" (formerly the Baolai Visitor Center), which combines local characteristics with modern amenities to create an attractive place for visitors to relax, take a stroll, dine and enjoy the local culture.
