Guguan Scenic Area in Bo'ai Village of Heping District is a famous hot spring area in Taiwan. Next to Central Cross-island Highway at 800 meters above the sea level, it was formerly dwelled by indigenous Ayatal people.
Dajia River meanders through Guguan. The light alkaline carbonated spring water here is of supreme quality, and every hotel here is equipped with hot spring baths for visitors to use. Utopia Holiday Hotel is especially famous for a precious thousand-year-old Taiwan pine.
Other than taking hot spring baths, eating fresh trout, and walking through forests, in Guguan, there is also a hot spring park and Shaolai Hiking Trail to explore.
