This memorial arch is outstanding among traditional stone monuments. It was erected in 1812 in honor of the mother of Chiu Liang-gong, a governor-general of Chiuliang province and resident of Kinmen; the lady's virtuous contribution was to live 28 years in widowhood without remarrying. The monument is made of the finest stone and exhibits exquisite workmanship, making it a true piece of art.
