2018 MATTA Fair Taiwan Pavilion – Getting the Attention of Muslims!

The MATTA Fair 2018 will be held at the PWPC, Kuala Lumpur from Sept. 7-9. The Taiwan Tourism Bureau will lead a delegation consisting of 100 representatives from 59 tourism-related businesses and it will demonstrate and promote Taiwan’s passion and hospitality. At the fair’s Taiwan Pavilion, we will feature the stunning scenery, culture and Muslim-friendly tourism environment on our island. The distinguished Malaysian Muslim star Ms. Mira Filzah will be invited to be the Taiwan Tourism Ambassador of the Year, to bring fans a series of fascinating activities and share her unforgettable experiences traveling in Taiwan with our Malaysian friends.

Malaysia now tops the list among the Southeast Asian countries with citizens traveling to Taiwan. In Malaysia, over 60 percent of the population of 32 million people is Muslim. Hence, the Taiwan Tourism Bureau will recommend our Muslim-friendly environment, which Taiwan has been striving to build up in recent years. This year, we’re holding not just the Taiwan Tourism Workshop for Malaysian Chinese, but also the travel mart for Muslims for the first time. Mr. Chou Shih-pi, the director of the Taiwan Tourism Bureau’s KL office, said that in order to market to different tourist source markets, and to make our publicity spread more effectively, we will try to pitch to different target markets for the first time and hope that Taiwan and Malaysia’s tourism industries could hold more focused discussions, and develop innovative Taiwan travel products for Malaysian Chinese and Muslims.

At the MATTA Fair 2018, the Taiwan Pavilion (Booth No.: 1413-1432) will provide visitors with Taiwan’s latest travel information and all kinds of amazing activities, such as DIY pearl milk tea led by Taiwan’s well-known drinks brand Chatime; a street dance performance combined with Taiwan’s township lifestyle, traditional customs, and pop culture by Zero Four Dance Crew; DIY cute chocolate snacks led by a tourism factory; and the must-buy souvenir 3:15pm milk tea tasting. Furthermore, you will be able to use the VR photography machine to drift yourself into the scenery of Taiwan or become the main character of a magazine cover!

This time the Taiwan Tourism Bureau will give those who purchase a Taiwan travel package(s) limited exquisite gift(s) redeemed at the reception counter of the Taiwan Pavilion. We cannot wait to meet you there at the MATTA Fair 2018 from Sept. 7-9!
