Organized by the Tourism Administration, MOTC, the “2026 Times of Rocks in Yehliu: A Nighttime Visit to the Queen’s Head” event will be held at Yehliu Geopark from June 28 to July 12, 2026, daily from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. This internationally acclaimed event invites domestic and international travelers to experience Yehliu’s unique geological formations through a romantic summer-night feast of light and shadow.
The North Coast and Guanyinshan National Scenic Area Headquarters held a press conference in Taipei on May 26, featuring full-scale immersive projection technology to showcase the spectacular “Twin Queens” of Yehliu. Distinguished guests in attendance included Legislator Wang Cheng-hsu; Wang Ching-yu, assistant to the office of Legislator Su Chiao-hui; Huang Yi-cheng, Chief Secretary of the Tourism Administration; Shih Wei-jen, Division Director of the Administration for Digital Industries, Ministry of Digital Affairs; Chuang Jung-che, Deputy Director-General of the New Taipei City Government Tourism and Travel Department; Huang Pang-mien, District Chief of Wanli District Office; artists; and representatives from businesses in the Crown Coast Tourism Union. Together, they announced the official launch of the “Yehliu Nighttime Landscape Art Museum.” Discount tickets will be available for online pre-order starting at 12:00 noon on June 1st.
The Tourism Administration stated that the “Times of Rocks in Yehliu” event brand was established in 2018 and has since been listed as an international-level event in the Taiwan Tourism Events Calendar. By combining Yehliu’s unique natural landscape with contemporary digital light and projection effects, the event has received numerous international design accolades. These include winning the Excellent Communications Design / Event category at the 2026 German Design Award and a Gold Award in the Event Innovation category at the 2025 TITAN Innovation Awards, demonstrating its strong international visibility and artistic value.
In addition to inviting artists and local students to co-create works, this year’s event marks the first cross-disciplinary collaboration with the Administration for Digital Industries, Ministry of Digital Affairs, launching a “Public Digital Submission Program” to put into practice the creative concept that “everyone can be a curator.” To welcome international visitors traveling from afar, the event will offer an exclusive reward: international travelers who purchase tickets may present their passports on-site to redeem one limited-edition souvenir. Through digital art, the event aims to promote the Crown Coast’s geological features, arts, hot springs, local cuisine, and specialty industries, while jointly boosting the local nighttime economy.
Themed “Gallery of Tides: The Legacy of the Twin Queens,” this year’s exhibition transforms Yehliu Geopark into an immersive nighttime landscape art museum. Through five major lighting zones, the event connects the iconic “Queen’s Head” with the new-generation landmark “Cute Princess,” creating a cross-generational dialogue that spans time and space.
The exhibition begins at the entrance zone, “Gallery of Tides,” leading visitors into the summer-night exhibition grounds. The replica rock zone, “Realm of Starlit Tides,” combines artistic co-creation with the charm of the replica Twin Queens. In the Cute Princess zone, “The Princess’s Atelier” uses the rock wall as a giant canvas to project the “Legacy of the Twin Queens” animated projection-mapping show, blending the delicate brushwork of local schoolchildren and artists to transform the natural landscape into a moving color narrative. The Liying Lake area, “Enchanting Shadow Realm,” creates a tranquil, romantic atmosphere, guiding visitors onward to the Queen’s Head area, “The Queen’s Canvas,” where the creative brushstrokes of master artists outline the Queen’s distinctive aesthetic across past and present.
To maintain viewing quality, ticket sales will be limited to 3,000 tickets per night, with two entry times each day: 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Ticket prices are NT$225 for weekday tickets, NT$250 for weekend and holiday tickets, and NT$150 for senior tickets (for visitors aged 65 and above). Children aged 12 and under, persons with disabilities, and up to one accompanying caregiver per person with disabilities may enter free of charge with valid identification.
