Built in 1673, it is also known as Dongyue Temple or Yuedi Temple. It is the oldest temple worshipping Dizang Wang in Taiwan, resembling a city god temple. As the deity protected local citizens like a city god, local officials put a lot of weight on it and renovated it very often. During the mid-Qing Dynasty, the hall became a temple with three sections and two wings, and a bell tower. During the Japanese Colonization, the bell tower and Sanchuan Gate were demolished for road expansion. In 1979 other parts of the temple except two sections were also demolished due to further road expansion. After the renovation in 1994, the 3-sectioned structure was restored.
