The Houli Horse Farm covers 15 hectares. The Taichung City Government recently renovated the park and built a flower-themed activity hall. The area was home to the "2018 Taichung World Flower Expo" and the "2020 Taiwan Lantern Festival." After the conclusion of these events, the city government contracted with Taiwan Leisure Sports Technology Co. Ltd (TLST) to manage the park's operations, increase capacity and add new features. The Houli Racecourse and Flower Dance Hall have been operating for 10 years. The new professional management team has created a high-quality leisure facility with diverse services. The site is now Taiwan's largest equestrian venue and offers a variety of educational and cultural experiences.
Equestrian sports are often regarded as being rather aristocratic. TLST's goal is to develop a "people friendly" equestrian style, while preserving the park's history. The headquarters and the farm manager's dormitory date back to the Japanese colonial era. The park has added themed restaurants and cafes, cultural/creative shops and exhibition halls. These harken back to the park's elegant atmosphere of old, and create an even more attractive equestrian environment. These facilities also help support the economic development of the Houli area.
