Xiaobaisha Island is named for its pure white-sand beaches. The entire coast-line of the island is great for sunbathing, swimming, and snorkeling. The broad beaches and beautiful underwater scenery are especially alluring.
Being uninhabited, the primitive, unspoiled character of Baisha has remained well preserved. The islet features well-developed columnar basalt formations, which on the southern coastline are particularly spectacular. This is also one of the best areas of the Penghu Islands for bird-watching, with colonies of terns nesting along the cliffs.
Xiaobaisha Island is a Penghu Basalt Reservation Area. Boats may not land on the island without prior permission.
