Lanyu Lighthouse is the highest elevation lighthouse in Taiwan. The round white tower is made of reinforced concrete and rises 14.8 meters high. Built in 1982, the lighthouse perches on a hard rock peak in the northwest corner of Orchid Island off Taiwan's southeast coast, commanding an excellent vantage of the sea. Nearby Crocodile Rock, Tank Rock, and Wukong Cave are also worth visiting while in the area.
