Once one of Taiwan's three major forest reserves, Baxianshan Forest Recreation Area is located at Bo'ai Village, Heping District, Taichung City. The highest peak in the Mt. Baxian group has an elevation at more than 2,000 meters and total area around 2,397 hectares. Standing on the top of highest peak, you have great views of Mt. Jade, Mt. Nenggao and Mt. Qilai. This forest recreation reserve contains a perfectly preserved forest and crystal-clear streams and rivers whose adjoining terraces and tablelands are broad and wide. With its stark and pristine views, this recreation area is an ideal place for mountain climbing, forest baths, and bird-watching.

Transportation:Nat'l Hwy 1 → Exit at the Taichung System Interchange → Nat'l Hwy 4 → Exit at the Fengyuan End Interchange → Prov. Hwy 3 → Prov. Hwy 8

- Take THSR to Taichung Station, transfer Taichung City Bus 153 extended to Baxianshan Forest Recreation Area stop.
- Take TRA to Taichung Station, transfer Taichung City Bus 850 to Guguan stop, and transfer Taichung City Bus 269 to Baxianshan Forest Recreation Area stop.
- Take TRA to Fengyuan Station, transfer Taichung City Bus 207 to Guguan stop, and transfer Taichung City Bus 269 to Baxianshan Forest Recreation Area stop.
