Tong Hwa Golf & Country Club, a layout spreading on the coastal hillside, was constructed by the Kajima Corporation of Japan and is the only Sato Takeshi design in Taiwan. The 2,200-ping (7,273 m2) clubhouse, designed by the “towering man in course architecture,” Kuo Mao-lin, is a great 19th hole with its elegant, splendid interior design. The efforts of the two masters together make Tong Hwa one of the most representative golf courses in Taiwan.
Boasting a broad, panoramic view, Tong Hwa Golf & Country Club features a variety of fairways which fully utilize the natural topography as well as large ponds and bunkers. The ingenuity of Sato brings honor to Tong Hwa with its par-4 7th selected in the 500 Best Holes in the World by Golf magazine. In addition to that, Tong Hwa is quite challenging as a tournament course and has hosted many events in Taiwan.
