The "Biennial Butterfly Beauty Festival" is an annual festival held from November to March of the following year. Over these months, thousands of purple butterflies cross the ocean to live in this valley, creating a famous butterfly valley viewing event.

    The two historic cedars that stand in front of the Lishan Hotel were used to create the "Tallest Christmas Tree in Taiwan" event. The Yunjianan Coastal Area in southwest Taiwan is blessed with a rich geography and ecology, including lagoons, alluvial sandbars, and salt pan wetlands. The Yunjianan area is home to about 70% of the world’s population of these birds. The Taiwan International Bird Watching Marathon is a 24-hour non-stop exciting and interesting bird chasing event that crosses mountains and seas. It has become a bucket-list event for leading global birdwatching enthusiasts.

    In the Amis language, "pasiwali" means “going to the east.” The sun rises in the east, and many of Taiwan’s indigenous people were born in the eastern part of the island.
