Opened in October 1992, the Sunrise Golf & Country Club is a versatile resort which blends golf and leisure enjoyments. This world-class layout was built by Robert Trent Jones Jr., one of the most prestigious course designers in the world. The standard 18-hole course measures 7,200 yards, with beautiful views accented by the trees and flowers planted along the fairways and around the clubhouse. The fairways are carpeted with Bermuda 328 grass and show an incredible variety of undulation and elevation change. Imported champion grass instead of Bermuda is chosen for its putting surface. The excellent design makes Sunrise a venue for various international golf games, including the LPGA Taiwan Championship from 2011 to 2013. The 29th Summer Universiade will also take place at Sunrise in 2017. These achievements make Sunrise one of the most international golf courses in Taiwan.
Sunrise ranked 39 in Deutsche Bank’s “Asia’s Top 50 Golf Courses.” It was also recognized with the “Asian Golf Monthly Awards” as the best golf course in Taiwan. In 2013, the magazine again hailed Sunrise as one of the top ten championship courses in Asia.
Sunrise offers the best golf experience for professionals and amateurs alike. The spectacular clubhouse is equipped with 83 luxury view suites, 14 multi-purpose meeting rooms, and spacious high-ceiling banquet rooms which feature Chinese, Western or Japanese cuisines. The resort also boasts more than 30 amenities, including an outdoor pool and an indoor warm-water pool, fitness center, saunas for men and ladies, hair salon, golf simulator room and practice range. Also available are facilities for other sports, including bowling, basketball, tennis, and snooker. Golfers can expect a great time in Sunrise filled with golf, leisure and cuisine.
