Situated on a moderate terrain at the border of Taoyuan and Hsinchu, Tsai Hsing Elite Club was planned and designed by Taiwan Kumagai, an affiliate of the Japanese Kumagai Gumi Co., Ltd, with details of the fairways polished by the American course designer Gordon Lewis. Tsai Hsing Elite Club earned the status of “Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary” on November 20, 2015, an evidence of its success in the six environmental aspects: comprehensive environmental management, wildlife and habitat management, water resource protection, reduction and safe chemical practices, water quality management, and environmental education and promotion. These efforts make Tsai Hsing the 891st course in the world—and the first in Northern Taiwan—to obtain the environmental certification, following in the footsteps of the premium eco-friendly golf courses like Pebble Beach Golf Links and Chambers Bay, the host site for 2015 US Open. Tsai Hsing was also honored with the Environmental Stewardship Award.
The course boasts an open, panoramic view, with the beautiful sight of Taiwan Strait visible on clear days. The well-balanced and beautiful layout is friendly and forgiving thanks to the wider greens and fairways compared with those in other courses. As a result, Tsai Hsing has been hailed as the “under-100 paradise in Northern Taiwan.” Even beginner golfers can have great fun here.
