Chiau Sih Golf Club is designed by the legendary Taiwanese golfer and course designer Chen Jin-shi. Situated in Linmei Mountain, Yilan with an altitude of 270 meters, the course overlooks the vast expanse of the Pacific in the east with a clear view of Guishan Island and Yilan Plain while the western part of it leans against the Snow Mountain Range. The course is landlocked by mountains on three sides and an opening to the Pacific entertains golfers with a wide-expanding view. The course has become easy accessible since the Snow Mountain Tunnel opened several years ago. The course is reachable in 40 minutes by car from districts of Neihu, Nankang and Xizhi in Taipei. It is about a 40-minute drive from Taipei 101 Buildings in downtown Taipei and a 90-minute drive from the Taoyuan International Airport.
In addition to the spectacular view of mountains and the ocean, golfers on the fairway on the 6th hole can also admire the Wufengchi Waterfall on the opposite cliff. When golfers walk to the green, they are greeted with the sight of some mallards playing with water in a pond sited 30 yards from the green. Thanks to the mountains in the north which blocks the northeast monsoon, the course feels like a paradise because it is often sunny in the golf course but rainy other places. Many golfers especially like to visit the course in the summer to enjoy the cool, refreshing breezes in the valley. Moreover, enjoying the nearby Jiaoxi Hot Springs after a round of golf is an unparalleled luxury.
