This temple is located in Xinpu Township of Hsinchu County. It is dedicated to the courageous Hakka people who organized a group of volunteers to protect their homes and communities at a time of unrest during 1644-1911, which is the early Qing Dynasty. The site of the Yimin Temple first served as the cemetery for those who died in the troubles. The temple was built on this site in 1788 and the martyrs' cemetery is now located behind it. There are three temple festivals every year: the Spring Festival before Tomb Sweeping Day, the Autumn Festival at the end of October or beginning of November, and the Yimin Festival on July 20th, lunar month.
