Dating back to 1912, Zhongzheng Park is the 12th oldest park in Taiwan. The park is located along the terrace of the Daxi River linking with Daxi Old Street to the east, earning it the nickname of the flower garden of Daxi Street.
From its high position, the park provides an excellent view of the lotus pond, pavilions and surrounding scenery. The old trees and lush greenery further make this a popular recreation escape with a historical note. At the lower side of the park is a trail that links to the famous Daxi Bridge, from which visitors can enjoy the river view. This old walking bridge is built in a baroque-style with arched spans and elaborate carvings. The bridge is especially charming lit up at night, making it a much-photographed site.
