The most beautiful train station on the South Link Line
Hailed as Taiwan's most beautiful train station, Duoliang Station overlooks the graceful Pacific Ocean. Railway fans gather up from around the world for this sanctuary, and web celebrities and bloggers come here to check in.
At 417.5K of Provincial Highway 9, the station leans against a hill penetrated by a tunnel. While building the station, the South Link Line Construction Department raised the station up with high steel racks to fit the hill, and set waiting rooms and ticket booths on the first floor and platforms on the second. Originally, two trails were here for trains to pass. But because the South Link Line trains were just a few, the hill-side trail was removed soon after the station was inaugurated. As fewer visitors took the trains, in July 2006, the station finally closed.
Taiwan Railways has however retained the station building and kept the nostalgic platform railings, which fit well with the blue sea and green trees in the surroundings. With such impressive scenery, the station is definitely worth a visit. Enjoy some good time here!
