Walking for just 3 to 4 minutes from a slope by Yongzhen Temple, one can reach Yongzhen Coastal Recreation Area. The vast coastal views and extending beach here have drawn many visitors, young and old. Along a wooded path and at a scenic pavillion, they can look at Guishan Island in the far distance. In fact, the park is ideal for appreciating the famous scenes of “Guishan Island under the rising Sun” and “a turtle eats the Sun.” And thus, photographers, both professional and amateur, like to take pictures here.

The coastal plants can keep winds away, while retaining sands. In the summer, it looks like one giant green sand dune. Located at the outlets of Lanyang and Zhu’an Rivers, it is a major bird habitat. At the recreation area, visitors not only can play water, watch Guishan Island, and observe the busy plant and bird habitats.

Yongzhen’s coasts are filled with sands. Therefore, in early days, fishermen would use large fishing nets to catch fish. Some fishermen would first bring the nets to the sea on small boats. Then, their partners would pull the nets back to the shores. This method is called Qian Gu in the local language. In recent year, Qian Gu activities are provided to general visitors, for them to learn about the old-time fishing style.
