Located at a high altitude in the deep mountains of Jianshi Township, Hsinchu County, the "Smangus" tribe possesses the beauty of Atayal culture and giant tree cluster scenery. It also features multiple varieties of cherry blossoms, including Taiwan native species, Yae-zakura (double-flowered cherry), Yoshino cherry, and Wusheh cherry. Every year from early February to mid-March, the pink sea of cherry blossoms blooming across the mountains makes it resemble a fairyland on earth.
