Launched in 2018, the Taiwan Contemporary Culture Lab (C-LAB) was formerly the Industrial Research Institute of the Taiwan Governor-General's Office during the Japanese rule period, and became the Air Force General Headquarters of the Republic of China in 1949. The Former Office Building, the War Room Building, and 15 structures within the park (former monument auxiliary facilities) were officially designated as national monuments by the Ministry of Culture in 2024.
Today, C-LAB is gradually revitalizing the space, opening it up for participation and residency by the public, arts and culture professionals, tech teams, and the animation industry. Through cross-domain and interdisciplinary collaboration and co-creation, C-LAB presents a rich array of exhibitions, performances, screenings, and public outreach programs, expanding the spirit and practice of cultural experimentation through the innovative energy of art and culture.
