Huangxi Temple is located in Taichung City and it is also called Wenchang Temple. The temple was built in 1888 and the architecture was of late Qing style. The temple worships Wenchang Dijun, and scholars would gather here for discussion. During the Japanese occupation, the temple was forced to close. However, after World War II, people found that part of the property was sold and objects were stolen.

Huangxi Temple is a building of traditional southern Fujian style. The decoration is delicate and the brick works are refined. It is one of the most artistic buildings in Taiwan and is highly valued in architecture. The roof has five sections and six wallow tails. There are ventilators on the smaller roofs, which is both artistic and practical.
