A Total of 36 International-Level Activities Announced, with Excitement Generated by Upgrades and Additions
The evaluators selected 36 events as international-level activities. These include the Lukang Dragon Boat Festival in Changhua and the Pacific Austronesian Joint Harvest Festival in Hualien. Both were upgraded to “international level,” symbolizing local festivals stepping onto the international stage. The Matsu Biennial was selected for the calendar for the first time. It showcases the innovative charm of art on the outlying islands. Several events are parts of an activity series, which also enhances branding, including 1) the Tour de Taiwan’s Provincial Highway 9 segment, part of the Taiwan Cycling Festival series; 2) the Hsinchu City International Kite Festival, part of the Taiwan Summer Festival series and 3) the Taipei, Pingtung (Sichongxi) and Hualien (Pacific) elements of the “Hot Springs Season” festivals. This integrated approach broadens market exposure and extends the marketing cycle.

These included 17 newly-added events, namely: 1) the Kinmen Tunnel Music Festival, 2) the Taiwan Science Festival, 3) the Alishan Forest Railway Cherry Blossom and Autumn Foliage Themed Train Tours, 4) the Fushoushan Farm’s “Cherry Blossoms Garden Park” Cherry Blossom Season, 5) the Romantic Provincial Highway 3 Art Festival: Creating New Hakka Art Trails, 6) Trendy Taipei, 7) the 2026 New Taipei City Railway Marathon Relay Race, 8) Taoyuan Halloween City, 9) the Festival of Hsinchu: Du Cheng Huang Temple, 10) the Yunlin Ocean Music Festival, 11) the Nantou Chocolate and Coffee Festival, 12) the Yuejin Lantern Festival, 13) the Taiwan International Orchid Show, 14) the Penghu Chasing the Wind Music and Light Festival, 15) the Formosa North Coast Arts Festival, 16) the Formosan Aboriginal Cultural Village Cherry Blossom Festival, and 17) the Sun Moon Lake Firefly Festival. From natural landscapes to festivals and arts, creative activities across the nation highlight Taiwan’s multifaceted charms. These activities are attracting growing numbers of local and international visitors.
