Taixi Fishing Harbor is a commercial oyster harbor, with wharf-side oyster shell piles and strings of cultivated oysters distinguishing it from other fishing ports. The port is surrounded by ecologically-rich wetlands. At low tide, visitors flock here to look for fiddler crabs and mudskippers. The walls along the alleys of the nearby Haikou Community are painted with colorful murals painted by volunteers from Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, the United States, Canada, Spain, and other countries, adding to the the international and artistic ambiance of the harbor.
