Traditionally named as Gandoumen, Guandu leans against Guanyin and Datun Mountains and faces Tamsui River. An important port standing at a geological vantage point, Guandu Wharf used to receive pioneering settlers aiming at northern Taiwan. Thriving early, it declined due to silted muds and sands from Keelung and Tamsui Rivers.
Guandu Wharf is near Guandu Nature Park and Guandu Temple. On weekends and at night, visitors come to the wharf to take a walk. Cyclists also visit here through Guandu Bridge from Bali or Tamsui. The scenery along the way is beautiful. Guandu Wharf itself is ideal for watching river views.
