At 616 meters above the sea level, Yinghanling is the highest peak in the Guanyinshan region. In the past, the Military Police School used to train the "tough man spirit" here, hence the name (in Chinese, it is pronounced as Yinghan). The distance is about 1,563 meters, mostly rocky steps, and it takes at least 60 minutes to reach the top of the trail, so it is classified as an "exercise level" trail, suitable for frequent hikers or those with good physical strength. The entire trail is densely forested, with rich plant life and shade everywhere, so it is not too hot to walk in the summer, and you can take a break along the way to enjoy the rich ecological environment. Today, the hill is known for a forest hiking trail showing a wide range of plants. It provides so much shade that visitors won't sweat too much even on a hot summer day. The diverse natural surroundings are worth some appreciation. At the top of the hill, visitors can enjoy a panoramic birds-eye-view of Tamshui River Outlet, Taipei 101, Shin Kong Life Tower, Grand Hotel, Guandu Bridge, and Tamsui and Bali in greater Taipei. The beautiful 18 peaks of Guanyinshan can be appreciated altogether till heart's content.
