Taitung Forest Park is famous for a large "whistling pine" forest that keeps coastal winds away. The forest is nicknamed as a "black forest" because the trees look dark.

Taitung County Government linked up a nearby coastal park and the forest to be the Taitung Forest Park. As the largest park in Taitung, it boasts the most well-preserved natural ecology. The park is ideal for doing leisure activities and sports. Of course, it is a highly popular scenic spot not far away from the town.
