Zhenwei Residence was the home of a Ching dynasty naval commander named Li Guang-hsien, whose military contributions led to his posthumous promotion to admiral. His house is now over 200 years old.
Behind the residence are three shih gan dang stones that repel evil. These are usually erected at the entrances to lanes as protection against evil spirits and misfortune. Two of these threes tones are simply the three Chinese characters carved into the wall, while the third is a short stone stele, set upright, with a relief lion's head carved at its top.
