The blue ocean and sunny beach vistas of the former Dapeng Bay Qingzhou Coastal Recreation Area cover an area of 7.6 hectares located on the southwest side of the Dapeng Bay Lagoon estuary. In order to protect Qingzhou beach, Dapeng Bay National Scenic Area Headquarters and the 7th River Management Office have launched a three part bay improvement project, which on completion will turn the area into a crescent shape. The branding of the local environment will then embrace imagery that features the curves of the bay, beach water marks, and free-line coast under a new “Qingzhou Bay” Brand concept.
With Dapeng Bay to the rear and facing the Taiwan Strait the area offers an excellent view of the ocean. In addition, as it is close to Dapeng Bay Bridge, it has also become the best location for visitors to watch the bridge open and close.
Many years ago Qingzhou Bay was known colloquially as "Hawaii." In order to make the area more visitor friendly, three volleyball nets have been set up on the beach (players still need to bring their own ball) with no reservations or fees required. It expected to be a must-visit attraction when visitors come to enjoy the water or take a nature walk.
