Dapeng Bay is the largest inner bay in Taiwan, and is rich in sea animals and plants. Redwoods and sea eggplants grow by the sea, and Ipomoea pes-caprae, Excoecaria agallocha, and Clerodendron inerme are all very famous here. Te Dapeng Bay National Scenic Area is home to many birds, fish and mollusks. There are about 95 types of birds, including migratory birds. Fish include groupers. Other sea animals include a special kind of "tide-waving" crab in the wetlands.

Dapeng Bay Marine Festival
The "Dapeng Bay Sailing Festival" is held at the Marina. The festival is a combines diverse performing arts from sunrise to sunset. The daytime activities include sailing races and a stunning show of a hundred boats setting sail. You can also explore the mangrove wetlands by canoe and take a ride on a heavy-duty sailboat. With a gentle breeze, you can enjoy watching the sailboats and yachts cruising in the lagoon, which is a must-see experience. At dusk, the masts of the sailboats are set against the sunset, and the golden surface of the lagoon is shimmering, making it a picture for photographers to chase. A visit to the market and watching the sunset are other excellent choices for travellers. After nightfall, local bands and street performers sing live surrounded by art installations and bright lights to kick off the summer.
