Taiwan’s Charm Shines Again in Dallas “Taiwan Pavilion” Welcomes Visitors with Tea at the 2025 Taiwan Expo USA

Date:Aug 22, 2025 Number of Visitors:271

The 2025 Taiwan Expo USA—organized by the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA), the Taiwan International Trade Administration (TITA), and the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA)—is taking place from August 14 to 16, 2025 at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, Texas. Bringing together government agencies and key Taiwan–U.S. supply chain industries, the event showcases Taiwan’s advanced technology sector alongside its cultural and tourism strengths. This year, the Taiwan Tourism Administration is represented by its Los Angeles office, presenting the Taiwan Pavilion, where guests are welcomed with tea and invited to enjoy interactive experiences and immerse themselves in Taiwan’s signature hospitality.

At the Pavilion, Taiwan Tea Ambassador Thomas Shu offers visitors a hands-on tea ceremony experience, serving authentic Taiwanese oolong tea while sharing the island’s rich cultural heritage and terroir. Drawing on more than 30 years of experience promoting Taiwanese tea in the United States, Shu will host a special session titled “When Da Vinci Meets Taiwan Oolong” on August 15 at 2:00 p.m. on the event’s main stage. This cultural tourism talk—the only one of its kind at the Expo—guides audiences through Taiwan’s nature, people, and stories from the perspective of tea appreciation.

To align with the Expo’s high-tech theme, the Taiwan Pavilion also features a Travel Taiwan AI Photo Booth, where visitors can instantly receive personalized Taiwan-themed scenic photos enhanced with AI effects—encouraging them to experience the real sights in person. Additionally, an interactive touchscreen guide allows self-paced exploration of Taiwan’s diverse travel resources, cultural festivals, cuisine, natural landscapes, and the latest travel promotions. Guests participating in Pavilion activities will have a chance to receive limited-edition gifts, bringing a piece of Taiwan’s warmth and goodwill home with them.

Vivian Lin, Director of the Taiwan Tourism Administration, Los Angeles Office, noted that Taiwan warmly welcomes local residents to visit. With air travel between Taiwan and the U.S. becoming increasingly convenient, North America now offers over 170 nonstop flights per week to Taiwan. EVA Air will launch its first-ever Dallas–Taipei direct service in October 2025, while China Airlines and STARLUX Airlines will open Phoenix–Taipei routes between late 2025 and early 2026. The expansion of direct flights will greatly improve accessibility for travelers from the U.S. Southwest. The Taiwan Tourism Administration continues to offer attractive incentives for international visitors, including Taiwan Free half-day tour, Taiwan High Speed Rail “Go 2 Taiwan: One-Way Ticket Buy 1 Get 1 Free”, and Taiwan Pass discounted transportation packages, making travel to Taiwan more convenient and valuable than ever.
