When the sea breeze blows and the waves lap against the shore, the most anticipated summer music festival in Taiwan is set to spark immense excitement! The all-new "2026 Pescadores Festival," grandly created by the Penghu National Scenic Area Administration (hereinafter referred to as the Administration) under the Tourism Administration, Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC), will make its grand debut from August 21 to August 23 at Aimen Beach in Penghu. A press conference was held today (4th), officially unveiling the highly anticipated and full dream-lineup of domestic and international artists to music fans. Issuing a summer call-to-action, the event promises a vibrant music party uniquely combined with the seasonal charm of the Chrysanthemum Island!
To give music fans a foretaste of the festival's charm, the Administration specially moved the festival stage to the plaza in front of Ximen Red House in Taipei. Performing bands "Thick Big Band" and "P!SCO" were invited to give exclusive preview performances, letting attendees experience the island music energy from Penghu ahead of time. The large crowd of indie music fans on-site exclaimed, "So satisfying!" and "We must rush to Penghu this August!", blowing a passionate prelude to August's musical battle on the Chrysanthemum Island (Penghu). Huang Yi-cheng, Chief Secretary of the Tourism Administration, MOTC, stated that Penghu has always been Taiwan's most iconic island travel destination in summer. Thinking of Penghu brings to mind sunshine, beaches, bays, and seafood. This year, building on Penghu's breathtaking seascape, the Administration has launched the newly designed "2026 Pescadores Festival" to share the world's most beautiful bay—Aimen Lintou Beach—and use music to invite more young people, music fans, and travelers to enjoy the beauty of Penghu. Lin Chieh-hsing, Deputy Magistrate of Penghu County, also mentioned that the miles of golden sand at Aimen Lintou Beach make it the perfect spot to enjoy music, scenery, and local cuisine.. He encouraged visitors attending the festival on August 23 to extend their stay through August 25to catch the grand finale of the Penghu International Fireworks Festival. He noted that Penghu’s autumn lineup—includingthe Penghu Chase the Wind Music and Light Festival, the 101K Bicycle Event, the Penghu Cross-Sea Marathon, and the Great March will keep the excitement going all the way through November!
The three-day 2026 Pescadores Festival brings together 30 acclaimed domestic and international acts. Heavyweight headliners include Golden Melody Award-winning band Accusefive, Mandopop retro-romantic icon icyball, ambient/indie band Sweet John, cyber-Taiwanese band Flesh Juicer / Amazing Show, and rock band KST. Even more thrilling are the two international acts: IKE, the legendary vocalist behind theme songs for world-renowned Japanese anime such as BLEACH and Haikyu!!, making his Penghu debut; and Thailand's rising star YourMOOD performing his soulful retro vocals across the sea. The stellar lineup also features fan favorites such as Fool and Idiot, Greenery, Gong Guan Youth, and Iruka Police will gather at Aimen Beach, coming together to deliver summer's most relaxed and international island music festival.
