The Taiwan Lantern Festival is the highlight of Lantern Festival celebrations across Taiwan each year. The 2026 edition will be held in Chiayi County from March 3-15, marking the third time (after 2007 and 2018) this spectacular event has taken place in Taibao City. Venues include the Southern Branch of the National Palace Museum, Taizi Boulevard, and a large open area in front of the county government building. Access is convenient via the nearby Taiwan High Speed Rail Chiayi Station, with free shuttle-bus service available to the venues. As in previous editions, the festival is expected to showcase a blend of traditional lantern displays alongside cutting-edge lighting entertainment using the latest high-tech equipment.
